Crowfeather led a patrol down to Snakerocks. "Keep an eye out for adders!" He called behind him. "and bear traps!" He stood on one of the rocks then jumped down, "We need to renew our scent markers!" |

Crowfeather made a low growling noise in his throat. "Im not being bossy! Mosstar told me to warn all the cats about the bear traps, and adders are well. bad!" He puffed his tail out till it was twice its size.

Sandfire stared into crowfeather's eyes and ran off into the forest. a few minutes later a snap and then a yowl could be heard.

Crowfeather opened his eyes, he nodded to the other patrol cats to keep marking the borders, and ran off.

Crowfeather stared for a heartbeat. "I told you to watch out." he mewed calmly coming up to her. He tried tugging at the long stick thing in the ground, but it was in there good.

Jasper had heard a yowl, he procked his ears and ran off into the direction. He caught Crowfeather's scent and followed it until he came upon Snadfire and Crowfeather. Sandfire was caught in a bear trap. He padded over to it and yanked out the stick with his strong jaws, "There you go, Sandfire, you better get yourself to Shineheart", he said.

"Oh Thank you Jasper!" Crowfeather meowed to him. He ran over to Sandfire, he could see her leg was splotched with blood, and it looked broken. "Are you okay?" he asked worriedly.

"I'm no medicine cat, but I think her leg is broken", said jasper, "And she may never be able to walk on that leg again unless we get her to Shineheart and fast"

He bent down so Sandfire could lean on him, "Some cat go and tell Shineheart to clear a nest fast, and that were coming in!" he called.

Crowfeather carefully lifted her up, and she rested on his and Jasper's back. "Okay! Mosstar, lets head back... can you keep an eye out for anything that could scrape or pull her hind paw, sutff sticking out from bushes or trees?" They began walking.

Floodfire stayed close by sandfire's side and never left her out of sight. Mosstar padded by crowfeather and looked straight forward. "be careful there's bracken," yowled mosstar," make sura none of it touchrs sandfire!"

Spottedfire and floodfire were at the entrance and gasped at how much blood sandfire had lost... they took her off of jasper's back and took her to shineheart's den.

Shineheart padded over to Sandfire and looked over her leg. "Yep, it's broken all right." she meowed heavily, and then pressed a wad of cobwebs into the wounds from the trap. "Lucky its only broken. I've heard of cats that chewed off their own leg just to break free of a bear trap."
Shineheart grabbed some poppy seeds and gave the to Sandfire. "Chew these, they'll help the pain." Returning to her hebs, Shineheart pulled out a packet of many different herbs and sighed. "When I heard of the bear traps, I prepared a quick healing packet, just in case." Seperating the herbs in two piles, she meowed, "Chew these ones, but spit them out. These ones over here need to be eaten to work."
Shineheart checked the wounds one last time. "Yep, I got everything covered in that packet."

sandfire chewed up the leaves and spit them out. then she licked up a few poppy seeds and tried to fall asleep.
